I am a big fan of being kind to people. I am a huge proponent of supporting people doing difficult jobs, and medicine can be emotionally, intellectually, and physically taxing. And you noticing their work and effort, and acknowledging it and being kind is a good thing. It speaks well of you, though I didn't need to know that detail to speak well of you. But I do worry about people for whom this kind of kindness is compulsory. And that care that Erica received should not have been contingent upon your emotional work. But, yay you.
