Yes, she is dead. Committed suicide. I read her book years ago when I was a teen-ager. Then I read the notice in the old WRL magazine WIN that she hsd killed herself. I was pretty depressed about it since, somehow, I had got to like her very much.

All the issues she struggled with in her brief life almost 30 years ago are still with us.
