Carol's afghan

So, the colors are outside my comfort zone, and DDB helped me choose them, but I think they worked really well. Here's a somewhat close look:

I decided to improvise an edging, because the pattern called for fringe. I like the way fringe looks for the seven seconds before the cat discovers that it's a great cat toy. After that, not so much. Also, fringe doesn't launder for shit. So, this pic kinda shows the edging. DDB thinks that the edging should have been thicker, but I rather like it as it is.

Carol, drop me a line about when I can drop it by for you. I'm busy the rest of this weekend, but sometime between next Saturday evening and Tuesday evening would work for me.

Huh. In looking at the photos, it looks like this a pic of the wrong side. The texture for the green panels has neat diamonds and bobbes which are not visible, here.

That's really lovely - I like the links and I do like the colors.

That butter color that some of the rings are? I'm using that same yarn, in conjunction with a wonderful royal blue, for your afghan. There is supposed to be a lavender stripe, as well, but it is not structural, and I'm wondering about omitting it. I'm liking the current colors very well, I dislike things that aren't structural because reasons, and I am uncertain that the color really compliments the other colors. Meanwhile, your afghan is coming along nicely, and while it is not exactly what I was hoping for, it is its own thing, and that thing seems very nice indeed.

Carol's looks beautiful, and the colors for Naomi sound good too.

those aren't "my colors" but the pattern is really wonderful--just a lovely piece of work!

Wow, that's really striking. Love the pattern, love the colors, love the texture of that yarn. What were you using?

The green and the persimmon are Caron Simply Soft, the pale yellow is Loops & Threads Soft & Shiny. That latter yarn has evidently been discontinued. Alas, I liked it a lot.

Dang, I hate when that happens. My new administrator is learning to knit and has a wool allergy so I'm particularly on the lookout for pleasant-to-work-with yarns that are also synthetic.
