Definitely get snow tires! While Subarus are awesome traction control and AWD, you still need snow tires. I have a particular brand of Michelin that my wife really likes, and she's from Ohio and went to school at Penn State. I'll get you the information later, We keep our cars shod in them year round, they're also good all-weather.
