So, my best cat, Arwen, has had a lump on her side. I took her to the vet, and the vet said it looked like the last one, was probably a sebaceous cyst, and that I could have cytology done if I wanted, but it was just as reasonable to just watch it. So, I watched it.

About 2 weeks ago, it suddenly got larger and harder. So I called and made an appointment. Due to the vet not being available, and then me not being available, we changed the appointment to this week. In the mean time, it went back to being like it was, same size and same hardness. So, today, I took her in to the vet. Since last night, it's gotten less than half the size, actually kind of hard to find. You'd think that would be good, right?

Well, no. Sebaceous cysts don't change in size and hardness like that. So, Dr. McMenomie thinks that it'll have to go. So, she's having surgery next Friday. They'll remove the lump (always assuming they can find it, eh?) and run cytology on it. They won't do the dental surgery she needs at the same time because they don't like leaving the patient under anaesthesia for very long. I'm not worried about the dental stuff. But I am worried about this damn lump.

So, that's the news from Lake Woebegone. Poor little kitten. Well, big kitten.
