Laryngitis suits me just fine

So, after crying at Mom for a half hour, I couldn't talk. I figured, you know, it was just crying and stuff. Still couldn't talk later, and I'd developed a slight cough. Today, I cannot be heard. My attempt at shouting (highly non-recommended for people with laryngytis, by the way) cannot be heard four feet away.

I think I shall go back to sleep.

Thanks for all the comments. I read them. If I ever recover enough voice, I'm going to get an appointment with an accupuncturist on the grounds that even if I don't believe in them the placebo effect is my friend and if they do work, that'd be a fuck of a lot cheaper than any of my other options.\

And now, I retreat to my bed of pain. Or at least, silence. Like I get a choice.

I'd try it, were I you.

I have absolutely no belief in the theory behind the body work I have done every month, but the results justify continuing.

I also have no belief in what I remember about chiropractic theory, but I'm convinced that chirpractic works for lots of people.

Here's hoping that life gets better from here on out.

When I had Laryngitis recently, here's what helped: warm or hot liquids. Hot tea was my friend (I usually only drink iced tea). Cold liquids weren't good. Soup good. Lozenges good. Lots of fluids were good. And, of course, not talking or whispering or even humming. I read a lot and watched TV a lot and slept alot and found it really hard not to speak. But it was only when I really stopped trying that it got better. FWIW, YMMV, etc.

My doctor prescribed a non-drying decongestant which helped, but that was because she figured my throat issues were a result of post-nasal-drip (even though I didn't feel like I had a cold). Sounds like yours may be from stress and strain though.
