Dreams

My life is nicely boring. Sleep, coffee, watch people sleep, sleep coffee, watch people sleep. Nice, steady. By far and away the most interesting thing that happened to me this week was a dream. As I was drifting off to sleep, my cat Arwen was cuddled up against my stomach. I dreamed that she was a little (one foot square, roughly) flock of sheep cuddled up against my belly. Sheep. That purred. It was for some reason a very evocative image. I've been calling her my little flock of sheep ever since. She doesn't seem to mind.

Last night when I was cuddling up to David to go to sleep I said, "Maybe I'll be your little flock of sheep." He said, "I don't think you can. You don't purr."

After years of drama, Nicely Boring sounds pretty nice.

She does sound a bit like a sheep sometimes.

Isn't it amazing how much sense dreams make when you're dreaming them? And isn't "nicely boring" a good, good thing?

Nicely boring is better when you get a paycheck out of it. After all, There Are Worse Things.

Aw, kitty cuteness.
