The kittens continue apace. As in, incredibly cute, chewing on all head at a moment's notice, and generally snuggling random monkeys at strategic intervals. Ninja likes to sleep on DDB's beard, which is, um, really really really really cute. He doesn't do it every night, but he does it often enough to make me think I'm becoming diabetic. Serious sugar overload.

Naomi seems tolerably adjusted to kittens. She doesn't particularly like them, but has reduced her growling and hissing to an admonishing "meh" which the kittens mostly comply with. Arwen... Arwen is not ok with there being little kittens. She has learned to hold her own when she is on DDB's bed, and merely hiss at them rather than running away, but she really, really doesn't like them. She spends a remarkable amount of time when on DDB's bed looking at the door, to see if a teeny, tiny kitten has invaded her space. She did sleep with me for a fair amount of last night (alas, I was not doing the same, I was mostly awake, which majorly _sucks_) but she still rarely ventures upstairs, except as far as the landing where there is food.

Mean time, the teeny, tiny kittens are, possibly twice the size they were when they first came here. They are growing by leaps and bounds. And they really seem to like their monkeys, for the most part. I can often distinguish them by voice. Nuit has a tendency to chirp and meep piteously. Ninja had this lovely interrogatory trill that I find utterly charming. Slowly, they are developing personalities. They still like each other, and will do a "double arm load of kittens" heap on occasion, which is really neat for the person they've decided to heap upon. Often, DDB will end up with one kitten and I with the other, but it's not consistent who ends up with which kitten. Nuit has the louder purr, that I can attest to.

I really love the new kittens. I'm worried about Arwen, who seems pretty unhappy with the advent of teeny, tiny, obviously very dangerous kittens, but I have hopes that she will eventually recover. She still loves me, which is reassuring. I just wish that she could come upstairs more comfortably. Of course, when she does, I will have to start separating out the kitten food from the adult food more assiduously, which will be a pain, but there you go. I miss my Arwen cat. Who remains the best kitten ever. Even if she is 12 years old.
