Last night, David, Pamela, Eric, and I hung out in the rooms-formerly-known-as-cat-free. All three of the interlopers were seen, petted, and generally friendly.

Grout is the shyest of the bunch, but she came out, and was scritchable by all. She got up on a chair near me and lolled about in a very cute sort of way. She even purred and looked quite pleased about things. At this point, we think she's a photophobe. She is never seen before dark.

Spackle was very friendly and made the rounds of the monkeys several times. She also did quite a bit of furbling on the rug in front of the pop-up books. She has the finest belly-fur in all the land. She has a funny, high, squeaky voice.

Mora was actually jumped up on the couch next to me, and put two paws in my lap, as if she were about to get in my lap and settle down, but then thought better of it. She is extremely soft and plush. She has a mat way down by her butt which we haven't tried to deal with yet, because she's still a bit skittish. She has a lovely, chuffy purr. Unfortunately, I seem to be very allergic to her, and had to deploy Benadryl.

Nate was here yesterday afternoon, and reported that Mora kitty sat on his lap for a long while, but that the other two cats did not make an appearance. It sounds like the sisters photophobia is a new thing, presumably caused by their up-rooting. Probably we should have Nate over late one evening to see his Grout-kitty.

I forgot to mention that I repurposed one of Ninja's stick toys last night, and Pamela was able to get Mora to play with it. Mora was also playful tonight, per Pamela. Grout looked like she might like to play, but Mora was too aggressive and left no room for Grout.

They are all very fine cats. We can't keep them forever, but I'm glad that they're here for now.

Grout did play on Saturday when somebody else was petting Mora. Spackle was loftily uninterested in the stick toy, but I should try her on a cat dancer.

Mora has a great little scamper. She really gets into it. Grout is more a studier; she stares and stares and then BAM, the toy is captured. Then she won't give it back.
