So, it's almost Christmas, and I'd like to gift this before the end of the year. One of the two items has been successfully guessed. The remaining item is small, relatively flat, plastic, and has a general book connection. The floor is open for additional guesses, either whimsical or practical.

Library Card

I guess old Library Card. Or maybe a gift card to Borders that never got used.

You know, I do still have a Borders rewards card that I could have put in. I didn't think of it.

But I _did_, in fact, include a library card. When you get new Hennepin library cards, these days, they give you two. A big one, normal credit card sized, and a "keychain" sized one. I put in the keychain one.

You are hereby deemed the winner (partly because I'm pretty sure Beth doesn't want the afghan). If you want this, it's yours and I'll bring it by. It's primary negative is that it's quite heavy. For most things that won't matter too much, but I would be inclined to launder it separately, as it will be rather hard on a washing machine if you put much else in the load.

I am happy to have the afghan go to Eileen. As you already know, it's a pretty thing, but it's not my sort of pretty thing.

I am, however, decidedly chuffed that I had the flash of insight or whatever that let me guess the first item.

A guitar pick that was given out as a promotion for a book. Maybe "War for the Oaks," that seems like a plausible book for giving out guitar picks as a promotional item.

Oh, I love the idea of a guitar pick. Maybe the next time I make this afghan. This was actually a fun one, and I'd be wiling to redo this pattern if someone really wanted it badly enough. As in, badly enough to ask nice and have opinions about colors.
