All is forgiven
Sep. 24th, 2015 10:01 amLady was very companionable this morning. Even more importantly, there were no unpleasant interactions. She was snuggly and purry, and I got to pet her back as well as her ears and chin. She came up, twice, to be petted, and stayed for a long time, just hanging out. So I think that maybe, yesterday, she really was worried. We're progressing, she and I. I wish I could keep her. I suspect Arwen would Have Words if I tried.

Date: 2015-09-25 02:16 pm (UTC)My current lack of plan involves getting her retested in the beginning of October. If she is still negative for FeLuk and not pregnant, then I'l try introducing her to the downstairs cats. I don't know how that will go. I expect Arwen to be very, very unhappy. If it doesn't go well, then I'll try to talk the upstairs people into trying to sweet talk Saffron and Cassie into accepting her (although it's unlikely that Saffron will tolerate a new cat). If that fails, then I'll start looking at other possibilities, probably Feline Rescue or Animal Arc, a non-kill shelter.
If Lady is either pregnant or carrying a lethal disease, then I'll look for a fostering situation with a no-kill shelter. I do not have the time or space for a litter of kittens, and I do not have the financial or emotional resources to see a cat through Feline Leukemia again.
