Do not fall down the stairs.

Again.

I am achy, my wrist hurts, my palm is swollen, and I have an amazingly large, dark bruise with swelling on my right ass cheek.

Advil is one of the great wonders of the world.

I can still knit, although I need to take breaks.  But that's a relief, you have no idea.

This sounds like excellent advice - hope you'll heed it. May the inconveniences pass smoothly.

I concur, I have fallen down the stairs a lot and never once looked back on it and said, "I fell down the stairs! o the fun we had!"

Nor has any dying person wished that they had fallen down the stairs more.

Lydy! Don't fall down the stairs!

I feel like I read somewhere that the stairs are the most dangerous part of a house, surpassing other obvious candidates like the stove. Whether true or not, this is why I enforce the "I don't want to go to the emergency room today" rule whenever the kids get it into their minds to play on the stairs.

Hopes for a speedy recovery.

It's a little early for a sacrifice to the stargoat.

I pulled it from the old journal:

Once upon a time, there was a goat. It was fairly ordinary so far as goats go...except that it had once swallowed a piece of the sun (long story). Because of this, the goat was quite popular in the Winter when people needed a bit more light and warmth. Thus began the tradition of The Travelling Star-Goat.

During the holiday season, the Star-Goat moves from party to party, providing comfort to those who live in the Northern climes. His arrival is always welcomed, but there is a price. Every season, one person must sacrifice to the Star-Goat in order to guarantee the return of Spring (again, long story). This year, I am sad to report, lydy was called upon to give up her hand and have it eaten by the Star-Goat.

Let us all remember this come April when the snow finally melts away.

Don't do that, we break to easily as we get older and it takes too bloody long to heal.

I concur in the not falling down the stairs thing. It is a good thing to avoid.

I'm just glad that it sounds as if no bones were broken in the process.

Feel better soon. Advil is good, so is ice.

Ow! Hoping that ibuprofen, ice, and the beverage(s) of your choice will provide you with complete recovery.
