Medical TMI, slightly gross, after the cut.

So, for years, literally before lockdown, I had a suite of weird issues with my anus. I had both diarrhea and constipation, often simultaneously, much too frequent instances of fecal incontinence, and epic anal itching. Right before lock down, I saw a gastroenterologist, who suggested psyllium and gave me a prescription for a steroidal anti-itch creme. The psyllium seemed to help, some, with the constipation and diarrhea, but didn't resolve the other two symptoms. The itching was incredibly bad, some days. You know how an itch can go from intensely itchy to painful? It did that, a lot. The prescription creme didn't resolve it. I tried hydrocortisone, Tuck's, a prescription of clobetesol from my NP, Preparation H, and in desperation, Monistat. After quite literally years, I thought, what if this is...fungal? And so I got tea tree oil, and applied it in a place you really aren't supposed to apply it, and at full strength, which they recommend against. It burnt like a motherfrucker, at first. But it also seemed to relieve the itching. I couldn't tell, initially, if the relief was just replacing a burning sensation with an itching one, but over time, it stopped burning an d the itching condinuted to recede. After a couple of months, the itching actually stopped! Weirdly, so did the fecal incontinance and the constipation. I am unsure how all of these things can be linked, and they may not be. But I gotta say, I'm glad I don't have to carry a spare set of panties every where I go!

Bodies, man, are very very weird.

Huzzah for a solution, if not an explanation!

I have had a situation which oscillated between: what if this is... allergies? ... but... what if this is... fungal? It is frustrating.

That's quite curious! You might also try Hibiclense, I have an occasional problem with jock itch and it does a good job with that. It's recommended to be diluted, I go a bit stronger than 1:1 and don't use it very often.

we lucked out I ordered a bidet just before covid started

you're not home a lot the portable bidet
might be a better option
a spray bottle with your preferred liquid,
water with baking soda or salt or vinegar?

the brat diet, banana(muffins) rice, apple sauce and toast
os often recommended. adding oatmeal helps make for proper bulk
probitics and when needed for helping things move
prune juice (I only need a mouthful.
mike does larger amounts
