Just the basics
Apr. 16th, 2003 04:57 pmCan you think of a more basic piece of clothing than black jeans? I certainly can't. Blue jeans are almost as basic, but I happen to prefer black. Since I've changed weight (again), I needed another pair. So, I went to Target. Obviously. They had a smattering of sizes, none of them mine. I wear an 18 wide or a 20 regular, long inseam. The closest I found was a 20 wide. It will just have to do. I can use a belt, I suppose.
The woman at the door to the fitting rooms told me that they aren't going to be ordering in any more jeans until they move into their fall season. Jeans, especially black jeans, aren't spring or summer wear. I said, "What, they think that someone with legs that look like mine wants to walk around in _shorts_ all summer?" She said that even the guys were having trouble getting black jeans this time of year. (Don't even get me started on the advantages of men's clothing over women's clothing.)
Oh, and than you very much, all you people that are about to assure me that my legs look perfectly fine. I appreciate it. However, I haven't liked the way they looked since I reached 140 lbs, and that was a long, long time ago. I'm not trying to protect _your_ eyes, I'm suiting my vanity.
