Can you think of a more basic piece of clothing than black jeans? I certainly can't. Blue jeans are almost as basic, but I happen to prefer black. Since I've changed weight (again), I needed another pair. So, I went to Target. Obviously. They had a smattering of sizes, none of them mine. I wear an 18 wide or a 20 regular, long inseam. The closest I found was a 20 wide. It will just have to do. I can use a belt, I suppose.

The woman at the door to the fitting rooms told me that they aren't going to be ordering in any more jeans until they move into their fall season. Jeans, especially black jeans, aren't spring or summer wear. I said, "What, they think that someone with legs that look like mine wants to walk around in _shorts_ all summer?" She said that even the guys were having trouble getting black jeans this time of year. (Don't even get me started on the advantages of men's clothing over women's clothing.)

Oh, and than you very much, all you people that are about to assure me that my legs look perfectly fine. I appreciate it. However, I haven't liked the way they looked since I reached 140 lbs, and that was a long, long time ago. I'm not trying to protect _your_ eyes, I'm suiting my vanity.

I don't know what Target charges for jeans, but I buy mine from Land's End where you can almost always get black. Though not many other colors any more. For $29.50 you can get up to size 18 up to a 32 inch inseam. These are a bit loose on me and I wear a 30 inch inseam. For $34.50 you can get the same jeans in the same colors with up to a 34 inch inseam and in sizes up to 26W. I swear if it weren't for LE, Jordin and I would both be, okay not naked, but I'd have more room in these dinky closets.

Did I help you to move house once? I know I helped somebody to move house when I passed through Minneapolis in February/March 1996. The dynamics of the household you describe in your bio sounds like it could have been responsible for the mess of stuff I recall helping to shift.

I don't know. That was the year of the Great Mnstf Move, where it seemed like everyone bought a new house and moved into it. Realtor Bob, realtor of choice for discriminating fans, told people towards the end of summer that he was booked up and he couldn't take on any new clients unless they were members of Mnstf or owned a piano. Frankly, I can't remember precisely when I moved into Blaisdell Polytechnic. I think it was actually November, in which case the time doesn't add up. Pamela, DDB, and Raphael moved in later, though, and I can't remember exactly when that was. It might have been that move... It all runs together. At any rate, thank you very much for helping someone move in. If it wasn't me, it was someone to whom I owed moving points.

No trouble at all. Besides, if you travel halfway round the world to Minneapolis what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon? Was worth it to see Minn-Stf Movers in action and look over a couple more basements (which we don't have here).
