I went to the hardware store after voting. I asked after vinyl glue, but they said that they had waterbed repair kits. So I bought one. It is sticky-sided vinyl patches. The vinyl was thicker than the last repair that I tried to effect. We'll see if this holds.

Thanks for the advice and offers of aid. Hopefully I won't need them.

Hooray for the neighborhood hardware store!

At which store did you find the repair kit? I may have need of the same myself someday. Our current waterbed has been astonishingly durable, but it's at least 20 years old now...

I was at the Ace Hardware store on Nicollet and 38th. They're all kinds of wonderful. Really helpful, knowledgeable staff. I asked somebody at the front, they had somebody at the middle of the store look it up, and confirm the guess of the person at the front of the store as to the location, and somebody met me in the aisle and picked out the item for me. Really good staff.

Yeah, they're terrific. I can't quite figure out how they can afford to pay such a large staff, but they certainly are helpful.
