Kittens Day Whatever
Dec. 4th, 2012 10:33 amSo, the kittens leveled up over Friday night, and suddenly were interested in being held and cuddled. This turned out to be particularly convenient as we hosted a Mnstf meeting on Saturday. This meant that not only could I show off our marvelous new kittens, I could pick them up and hand them to admirers, and they'd purr. And purr. And purr. And purr.
They still kind of require that you grab them quickly. If you reach for them slowly, they tend to run away. Not very far, but away. However, if you do manage to snag one of them, they'll usually stick around and purr and purr and purr and purr. If you get lucky, and snag both of them at once, you get a large armload of purring kitten. They tend to entertain themselves by chewing on each other's ears while you pet them. Really, honestly, the Cutest Thing Ever.
They both have lovely little trilly voices. Ninja continues to be a little braver than Nuit, but they are both very cuddly when you catch them. I have hopes that soon they will start climbing into laps on their own. They play with each other, which is really cute, but they also sleep all snuggled up. I consider this to be very hopeful. While Arwen and Naomi used to play together, I don't recall them snuggling up to sleep together.
Speaking of the big kittens, Arwen appears to be angry with me. She doesn't show up when I get home from work in the morning, and she doesn't show up for dinner when I get up in the evening. I was kind of prepared for her being a bit pissed, since I'm spending a lot of time in a room she can't get into, but it presents problems with giving her her twice a day dose of Tapizole. Added to this, she appears to have taken against the pill pockets, and things are not so good. So far, I've always been able to find her and pill her, which she always greets with a look of complete confusion, but at some point, she's going to catch on.
We still haven't introduced the big kittens to the little kittens. We were supposed to do that Sunday night, but I got confused and didn't set things up correctly, so we didn't. Will probably do that my weekend (which starts tomorrow night). I have no idea how things will go. There was one incident of hissing on one side of the door and growling on the other side of the door (big kittens hissing, little kittens growling) but nothing else. I am hopeful.
