So, the tiny kittens have always looked a bit like miniature cats. They never had the pushed in noses that I associate with kitten faces, nor the outsized ears or paws that are so common. But just today, they've really started to look like cats, to me. Half-sized cats, but cats. They still have their very kittenish qualities. They run and play and knock things over and chew on all the heads. But they are emphatically larger than they were. Half-sized isn't such a bad guess, either, since they weigh just over and just under five pounds. Oddly, Nuit is the heftier or the two. I think that's because she strongly prefers the kitten food. Nuit likes the big cat food, which is a weight-loss food. Mostly, I let him eat some because I don't think it's really bad for him.

Arwen has managed to get up on my bed twice, today. Both times, she spied a teeny, tiny kitten and had to run away. But this is significant progress. Silly big cat. She is now often able to see a kitten without hissing at it, and can sometimes be on David's bed at the same time as a kitten, but not always. Naomi seems to have adjusted. She's not pleased that there are now kittens in her world, but she isn't upset by them unless they are actually invading her space. It's probably too much to hope that she'll romp with them, but, well, hope springs eternal and all that.

I hadn't thought about it - but yes - when I met them they seemed more like small cats than kittens... I'm not sure what that's about. Strange!

I'm glad they are kittens regardless of my silly perceptions and ... yay! Kittens! and Cats! And bitey on heads!
