Cute cats are cute
Mar. 14th, 2013 12:23 pmNuit went into the vet to be spayed, today. When I put her in the cat carrier by herself, she began peeping piteously. Previous trips to the vet, she and her brother were both put into the cat carrier together, and they were generally fairly quiet together. The last trip to the vet, when I took Ninja out of the carrier and left Nuit in alone, she made sad peeping noises, clearly concerned about what the vet was doing to Ninja. She really likes her brother.
When I came home without Nuit, Ninja rushed up to me, clearly concerned. He has been fussing and worried ever since. He misses his sister. It's all very, very cute.
Nuit comes home later today (unless there's a complication, we all pray there is not).
Meanwhile, Arwen has gotten better and more skilled at not taking her pills. Every time I find a new strategy, she goes along for about a month, then she figures it out, and it stops working. I'm not sure what my next strategy should be. So far, she's still easy to pill the direct way, even though she hates it. I find that putting the pill in a half a pill pocket makes it easier to shove down her throat. But, eventually, that's gonna stop working, too. Silly cat.
Naomi is just generally very cute and sweet, just like always. She's developed the habit of showing up upstairs for fancy wet food, often with a kitten posse, according to Pamela. I have not seen this, but it sounds unutterably cute.
On a sad note, we are all missing Ari today. He was a fine cat. I found him, stranded, wounded, upset, covered in motor oil, and demanding that a people-type person Fix It Right Now in downtown Minneapolis on my way to work. He became Pamela's cat because for complex reasons, and he loved her madly, oddly, and deeply. He never really forgave me for the existence of Fester (long cat story deleted here), but I always loved him. I miss him.
