So, yesterday, Arwen made an attempt to come and sit with me, but Ninja was on my lap. So I pushed Ninja off my lap, but it was all too much, so she left. She came back about a half an hour later, got in my lap, and purred and snuggled and purred and purred and purred. I had a dinner date and had to dislodge her. When I came home and went to bed, she came and slept with me. Sometimes in the crook of my knee, sometimes on my chest. But she was there most of the night. (And most of the day, since I ended up sleeping all day, too. I do that.)
I am relieved. I didn't _think_ she'd stay mad at me, but, well, cats. And four days is actually a very long time. Her longest previous snit was about three hours.
I love my cat. She makes me smile every day.

Date: 2013-05-24 02:45 am (UTC)Jinx outsmarted me on Tuesday and thereby missed her vet appointment. Today I outsmarted her long enough to get her into the carrier, which meant she made her rescheduled appointment.
That was over 8 hours ago; there are no signs of forgiveness (or forgetfulness) yet. I hope she will come and sleep with me tonight. She picked that habit up 4 months ago and it's survived the several times I've been away overnight since then, including an extended trip to Michigan in March. Then again, the last time I put her in a carrier (to stay at a friends house, then to bring her home again), it was months and months before she'd come up on the sofa when I was there. (She's an extraordinarily skittish cat.)

Date: 2013-05-25 03:54 pm (UTC)Arwen has remained cheerful and affectionate. We'll see what happens when I take her to get her stitches out next Wednesday, though. (That's also when I expect to hear the results of the tests on the lump.)

Date: 2013-05-27 09:34 am (UTC)The fact that I tricked her into the carrier with yummy food isn't helping my efforts to get as much food as possible into her while keeping Tillie (AKA Ms. Pudgepot) from eating it all. So Jinx is getting nummy canned food for the first time in her life and Tillie has to make do with her usual kibble. Little does Tillie know that both cats are moving over to meal feeding as soon as I can bring myself to cutting Jinx off from free-feeding on kibble whenever she wants it, like she's used to. For the next few weeks, it's more important to get weight on Jinx than to get it off Tillie. But Tillie is clearly going to be annoyed by the upcoming restrictions; both cats have been free-feeding ever since Daddy took Tillie in.
Cats. Why did it have to be cats?
