Thanks everyone for well-wishes. I'm much, much better. There are still about a gazillion unresolved issues, but I'm not violently ill nor locked in a mad house. Gotta say, that's a huge improvement.

Oh, I forgot to mention one other comparison that struck me between the loony bin and food poisoning: They don't make you drink Gatorade in the loony bin.

It is my experience that the only time Gatorade tastes good is when my electrolytes are vastly out of balance. Thus, I think of it as a magic liquid.

I gather you don't have the same experience.

Yes, unless it's red. Red gatorade, which is what was brought to me on my sickbed, still tastes like that horrible fake cherry flavor that they used in the cough syrups of my childhood. Mind, it claims to be flavored like fruit punch. But all Gatorade lies.

Orange, not so bad. Oddly, Ice Tea tastes pretty darn good if you're in need of Gatorade. The rest of the time, well, water with vinegar and a bit of sugar is really pretty effective if you're worried about not being able to be able to stay hydrated on just the water.

Glad to hear that you're much, much better (Even though that phrase gives me a flashback to John Astin, on some TV show, saying something very similar. The scene was hilarious, even if I no longer reemember the rest of the show).

Sounds like one point for the loony bin over food poisoning - I really can't stomach Gatorade, and I'm at a loss to figure out why anyone would ever drink the stuff.

Oh, geez. And I see from looking at your previous posts that you are not kidding. I wasn't able to tell if you were hospitalized for the food poisoning too. Yuk. I hate the Gatorade stuff too. I can tolerate the blue kind with sufficient force of will, but only when the alternative is worse. Congrats on making (and enjoying) the pool party, it was more than I could manage.
