lydyI passed the RPSGT exam. Rather well, too. As usual, I worried a lot and didn't study enough. I have a hard time studying. I never learned how. I did study some for this, and it paid off. I fortunately studied the two areas I have the most trouble with. It would be interesting to know if I could have passed without studying, but not an experiment that I was willing to make. Especially not at $450 a shot. It's really, really nice that they give you your results as soon as you finish the test. Right up there on the monitor and everything.
So, now I can list RPSGT as a qualification on my resume. This should help. I can join the AAT, the professional association, though I probably won't until I get a job, as it is $100/yr.

Date: 2010-09-01 01:39 am (UTC)Good luck on the job front. FWIW, I was very pleased with the Sleep Center/Lab/whatever they call it at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. While my health care overall has been better here in Massachusetts, the sleep study I had at Methodist was far, far superior to both the sleep study, the pulmonologist consultation, and all apnea-related care I've received here.
I keep considering doing sleep study research. Last year, I found more studies I was qualified for than I found in a quick look tonight, but I should keep checking back. It looks like they pay pretty well, my schedule has the flexibility, and most of the studies look like the sort of medical research I'd be willing to participate in.
