Again? WTF?

So, I was completely, and I do mean completely recovered from my most recent bout of the flu. So why in the name of all that's holy did I start coughing again at about midnight last night? And why have the coughs been getting worse? Deep, tearing coughs, long series of them that make my stomach hurt. Ah, the sweet, sweet memories of childhood. (I got very, very good at getting up in the dark, running downstairs to the bathroom, and throwing up. I did it a lot. I was too little to reach the pull chain for the light, so this was all in the dark.)

I give up. I took the fucking cough syrup before I went to bed. It kinda worked for an hour or so. At about 1:00 I woke up again with a series of racking coughs. I took two ACC, which have between them 16 mg of coediene. Hopefully, that will allow me to go back to sleep. And I have an appointment at my clinic tomorrow after work. I'm going to try to get them to write me a prescription for a cough syrup with coediene in it. Gods all mighty, but I hate cough syrup. But I hate coughing even more. Lots and lots more.

So fucking tired.

Why, yes, yes I do. These days it's pretty much only triggered by exercise. Or, of course, any bodily ailment which quite promptly settles in the lungs. Stupid damn lungs.

this happened to me, too--that is, i was sick for three weeks, finally got completely better, and now i'm sick again. :( .

_But_, the nice doctor have me a prescription with coediene in it. So, hopefully, the coughing will be kept at bay. She did say I shouldn't drink and use it, but they always say that. Drinking or no, coughing or no, I _will_ be at Fourth Street.

Actually, my dad did used to rub my feet when I was having an asthma attack. He believed in reflexology. Can't say that it actually helped that much, but it was ever so much more in improvement over getting spanked for coughing, so there you go. I'll take the crazy reflexology thing over a beating any day. (And somewhat tangentially, have you ever seen Tim Minchin's "Storm"? Fucking brilliant.)

Just because I was reading about it again recently, any chance you have whooping cough (pertussis)? Hope not. But whatever it is, I hope it goes away fast!
