2. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?
Would depend on whether or not I was alone...but I'd start by seeing if I could open the doors and hop out to the floor below or above.

Really good ballroom dancing

A well stocked bookstore
5. Favorite vegetable?
Peppers

A med-surg nursing textbook.

Clean, but messy
8. Any Tattoos and/or Piercings?
Yup, rose tatt and pierced ears. Used to have other piercings but gave them up when I started working in hospitals around people who have infections we can't cure.
9. Worst Habit?
Overeating.

My ex-husband

I have webbed toes- the 2nd and 3rd on both feet, but they're so subtle that I didn't even realize it until my son was born with significantly fused toes and I looked more carefully.

Would depend on why you were down there... ;)

I think so, but I don't know you well.

Has never been an issue.

Cheerful, friendly, intelligent, interesting, sexy.

Not clinically....

I don't know- I cry and don't cry for no apparent reason.

C.J. Cherryh Fortress in the Eye of Time, I'm now half-way through Fortress of Eagles in a mammoth re-read because I've got the new one.

Clean. I just had a bath this morning.

I wouldn't be so presumptuous.

Reading. Or if someone reads to me. I have also fallen asleep during the safety announcements on a plane.

It would be a long way to come, and I don't want to yell at you.

No way! Dates, ugh.

It wouldn't make any difference.

Pay off the apartment, keep $20,000 and give the rest at $20,000 a time to all the people I know who that would make a life-changing difference to, until there wasn't any left.

That I'd inadvertantly answer that question in public where my enemies might see it.

2. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?
Investigate to make sure there was nothing I could fix. Then probably read. This is, of course, very different from what I did when I was stuck in an elevator, but I didn't have a book with me then. Also I was 14, and the guy I had a crush on was in the elevator with me, along with 15 other people from our homeroom.
3. What talent do you wish you had?
Relaxing would be a good one. Letting things go. Being patient.
4. Favorite place?
When I was driving home from coffee in S. Minneapolis on the 23rd, my brain broke for a minute, and I thought, "I love this place so much. I wish I lived here." And then it came back to me: "Wait! I do live here!" And then I was just shatteringly happy for a moment.
5. Favorite vegetable?
Maybe cucumbers, or maybe tomatoes if they're not fruit, or peas in the pod, roasted green beans, bell peppers, asparagus, field greens, squash...I think we're basically going with "not beets."
6. What was the last book you read?
I'm currently reading

I last showered yesterday morning, but I haven't been rolling in muck since then.
Mentally? Why, pure as the driven snow, of course. I will even make the innocent face to prove it.

One piercing in each ear, in the standard spot for people who only have one to have one. No interest in more.
9. Worst Habit?
Running myself ragged and then falling over, then getting up and repeating it. I'm working on it.

To be a physicist and a science fiction writer. Considering the number of good things I have that it didn't include, I think 50% is a good success rate.

The last few weeks of January last year.

You already know a fair number of weird facts about me. The one I usually say for this is that I once played Mrs. Brady in a French Club skit of "The Brady Bunch" which featured the Bradys meeting Salman Rushdie on a plane. As a result, I can sing the Brady Bunch theme song in French. If you're really nice to me, I won't.
8. Would you have my back or kick me when I'm down?
Have your back. Not going to dilute that with silliness.
9. Do you Trust me?
I'm not sure where the capital letter is going, but yes.
10. Have you ever kept anything from me?
Oh, sure. I haven't told you how I spent the summer of '92, for example, or when I first started to like cheese. But as for deliberately keeping relevant information from you, nope, not that I recall.

I'm still not sure where the caps are going, but you are the very best Lydy (not just in the whole house!), and I love you dearly.

Remarkably sane given some of the tricks your brain chemistry seems to like to play with you.

I wouldn't go on a blind date if anyone set me up. But you've seen enough of my taste in men to have a better notion than most.

Honest, because I can see drawbacks either way, so I'd default to honest.

Find a house up in the city closer to most of our friends. Travel. Give to charity. Invest and repeat. Something like that.

My singing does not appear to be painful to those who hear it, and eight years of ballet training means that I can pick up a lot of dance stuff fairly quickly. I have done both in performance settings and have no interest in doing either in performance settings again. What counts as a performance setting is probably fairly quirky.

You are the Lydy. Other words don't manage to get all of the Lydy. That's why we have names in the first place, so we don't have to try to smash a bunch of descriptors together.

I have been looking over Teh Muscular system Manual but it is not a fun book. I am reading FOREVER AMBER by Kathleen Winsor, it was banned in Boston in 1944.

I was thinking some of the DNA that we share but then we would not be us, would we?
16. How do you fall asleep? Usually on my left side, cursing the dog or Ernie for taking up too much of the bed and for hogging the covers.

18. Would you go on a blind date if I set you up? well, considering I am married and I am not into poly relationships, I would have to say no. BUT, if Ernie were to die, and I was up to dating again, I guess I would. ( can I tell you I would be very very scared?)

It depends. In my belief, lies are a sin but Rahab lied. so, it depends on what the outcome would be. If a lie helps you, then yes, I would lie.

Pay off all my bills, buy inexpensive functional house if there is any left, invest.
21. What is your worst fear? My kids being taken from me.

Use whatever technology is available to connect me with the outside world, then pull out my book and read until rescued.

The ability to write fiction.

I have lots of places I like, but no one favorite place.

Asparagus, though if I weren't low-carbing, potato would come first.

It didn't happen to me, but the worst thing for our family was probably my brother's accident, four years ago.

I read until my eyes start closing, then turn off the lights. Sometimes I actually count sheep. I visualize them bounding over a fence -- boing, boing, boing, HOP!

If I needed to yell at you, I'd probably send an e-mail.

Maybe. You'd have to talk me into it.

Be honest. Because if it were the other way around, I'd want to know.

Invest half of it and secure my retirement, and give chunks away to people where I thought it would make a difference.

Developing Alzheimer's or some other sort of dementia.

2. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator? That depends on who I was stuck in it with. I actually kind of have a fetish about elevators--they're a tiny bit of privacy in the middle of public space...but that whole thing is probably outside the scope of this...
3. What talent do you wish you had? Speaking more languages well.

The baech. Any beach.
5. Favorite vegetable?
I dunno, Jerusalem artichokes maybe.
6. What was the last book you read? Outside of work, you mean? Dutch Uncle, by Peter Pavia (Hard Boiled Crime)

17. Would you come over to yell at me or just call? I favor one-on-one contact over the phone, which I use but consider an instrument of the devil.
18. Would you go on a blind date if I set you up? Yes, I favor going on blind dates whenever possible. They are good social exercise. And I've had a couple that worked out well.
