...and honestly, I was, kinda:

The polyp came back benign. They say removing it may prevent future cancer, and I have no idea what that actually means, but still. No cancer. We like that a lot.

Excellent news. "The biopsy is benign" may well be the most beautiful phrase in the English language. Most welcome, too.

I remember when Pamela's mother was misdiagnosed with brain cancer, they did a biopsy and the tissue came back as "necrotic." I said that I had never expected the word necrotic to sound so beautiful.

I was worried and am relieved, given that I'm grieving a colon cancer death.

What that actually means is that polyps can become malignant over time. If they hadn't taken that polyp out and had noted it and taken it out next year (or whenever--I don't know anything about the timing), they might not have had the same result. That's why they take them out.

WooT!

Just don't have a heart attack when the bill arrives. That little procedure moves it from preventative to therapeutic, and that made my checkbook hurt a whole lot more, or at least it did mine (mumble) years ago.
